'Ocean' is a very interesting, and probably proper analogy.
Since you are using all IIgs's, then I'd have to say, not really, no.
Timing shouldn't be a problem since the parallel card will control
any issues that would arise.
Here's a funny irony for you. I actually, in the 80's, ran NC lathes
which were controlled by Apple IIe. Of course there were dozens
of other boards and devices in the box with it, but that was for the
most part the main controller.
