GShisen is one of my all time favourite IIgs games. It and Shanghai II:
The Dragon's Eye are always installed on my IIgs. My top ten times
currently range from 1 minute 53 seconds to 2 minutes 25 seconds.
The way the competition works is in GShisen each game is timed. The
machine that is running the competition will have the hall of fame
cleared so that the top times will be recorded if you manage to remove
all the tiles. GShisen also has a feature that allows you to play a
specific game so that everyone in the competition will play the same
layout. After the first round, the top so many people go to the next
round where another game is played by everyone. There are sometimes two
or three rounds. In the event that there weren't enough people to
complete a layout to advance to the next round, the people who didn't
complete it will play another game with the top time(s) joining those
who did complete it in the next round.
It is a lot easier to do than to explain. :-)
