Re: Display for Apple IIGS

I have seen a SCART->VGA, could you then rig this and be done?

Until we can figure out why my results are so poor, I would urge caution before considering this approach. With the number of classic computer hobbyists out there staring at Ataris, Apples, Commodore, etc. with dying monitors, it's just beyond me why no one has been able to come up with a scan converter that actually works properly for these small systems. Doesn't seem like it's rocket science, particularly with talented folks like Mike Mahon around :-).

The Micomsoft XRGB2+ does an excellent job with the IIgs RGB video. It has since been discontinued and replaced by the XRGB3, both are very hard to come by now. I was lucky to snag one when I did as none of the typical console importers seem to be able to get them from Japan anymore. Another option if you have a EDTV or HDTV is a SCART RGB to component adapter. Cheaper and available from a US seller on ebay, just need a 12V DC adapter for 110V US current. <http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SCART-RGB-to-YUV-Component-Video-Converter-Adapter_W0QQitemZ320249120518QQihZ011QQcategoryZ14965QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem>
