Yes, I have been able to use the 3 MB 2mg archive on Brutal Deluxe's
site and it appears that the Installer is not compatible with the
image ;-)

Copy the LemminGS onto your hard disk drive. Open the newly created
folder and launch LemminGS. That's it!

It works perfectly well,
