   Thanks,

I have my answer: I went back to my real Apple IIe and it behaves the same, so the emulator is really good and recreates the error I have in my files (on the CFFA). Looks like I have a problem into my basic.system (I also have a basic.sys.2.0.3 (can anyone tell me wich one is run at boot time?)

Prodos will run the first file in the main directory of the disk that has type SYS and a name ending in .SYSTEM, if I remember correctly.

Okay, I had a Prodos 1.9 running. So I removed it and renamed the basic2.0.3 and prodos2.0.3 so now they are launch at boot time.

I solved my problem, but don't know why it is that:

if my screen is in 80 col (PR#3), then HGR2 doesn't work correctly.
But if I turn it back to 40 col (with Esc "4") then HGR2 works perfectly. I there a way, within a program, to turn the screen to 40 col?

What you are experiencing is normal behavior.

PRINT CHR$(17) sets 40-column mode.
PRINT CHR$(18) sets 80-column mode.
PRINT CHR$(21) turns off the 80-column firmware.
