I suppose those Apple /// drives did cost an arm and a leg though,
compared to these 3.5" PC drives.  As usual, you get what you pay for...

The mechanisms were identical to the Disk ][ and the analog board
had only trivial wiring differences.

When I first looked inside and saw that they were "gutted" Shugart
SA390's, I was a little dubious--especially looking at the plastic
head positioning cam--but they turned out to be quite durable.

As we all know:  "What isn't there will never fail."  ;-)
