Re: ][ Board only

A friend of mine bought a board only Apple II. It was the first Apple Computer that I ever saw. I would estimate it was in late '77 or early '78. If I remember correctly, he had some issues with the power supply. Eventually after a couple of calls to Apple, he had it working. Ascii keyboards were available mail order at the that time, so they weren't much of an issue.

He, me and another person went in together to get a bulk discounted purchase of 16K DRAMs, which were normally something like $25 to $30 each, back in those days. I bought only 32K, bringing my machine up to 36K. I ran it a for long time with 36K memory. I think I eventually scrounged another bank of 8 from some leftovers at work to bring my machine up to 48k.

hobbyist. Has all of the features of the Apple ll system but does not
include case, keyboard, power supply or game paddles. $598"

Did anyone on here ever purchase just the board and use your own
keyboard, power supply etc?
