FWIW, I often see older PC supplies at thrift stores for $1. In my
experience, 90% are in good condition and work well (and for $1, you
can afford to buy a few ;-).
Apparently, a lot of people replace their power supplies hoping to
fix instabilities or other problems, or just to upgrade, but for
an Apple II (or several) they are perfectly functional.
