Re: Space Demo (ActionScript)
Good question. :)
The real fact is that I just "discovered" ActionScript 3. This used to
require expensive software to program, learn animation, etc. But what
I want to teach my son is the programming environment like Complete
Pascal and toolbox.
Another reason is that no matter what, Apple II - including the Apple
IIGS, is still easier to pick up than Flex 3 environment that I am
setting up.
Of course, now starting all over again - it might be very different (I
still got 2 more kids to teach), but it is a very nice journey for my
son to rediscovered the Apple IIGS experience. As long as this journey
inspired one or more user - kids or not - to like Apple IIGS
programming, it is considered a success. I don't know how much Ding
Wen like his "virtual" Apple IIGS - but it is already part of his
life. I started my programming career as an Apple II programmer (I am
now a CTO), and I am glad Ding Wen started similarly as mine.
