Re: C64/128 vs. Apple2?



The major difference between the machines was the Apple's I/O block
started at C000 and the Commodores started at D000.
The Commodore had better built in graphics and sound, while the Apple
II had better expandability due to it's more open bus architecture.
If the VIC and SID had been put on an Apple II card, we probably
wouldn't even been having this conversation.

The greatest limitation of the C64 was its single cartridge port,
while Apple never provided a really good graphic system until the
IIgs. At that point the age of the 65X series processor was done, and
the IIgs didn't offer anything that the Amiga or Mac couldn't do
better.
