I remember the day well. Christmas 1984, I was six years old.
Dad came home, with a few huge boxes with a rainbow Apple on them. After a
few hours he hooked the thing up and it was running.
We used that Apple //e from 1984 to 1992 - games science fairs. The DuoDisk
started failing around 1989, and sometimes we couldn't save files.
The schools started getting their computers up and running and they chose
the IBM route.
So did we as of 1993.
The Apple was packet into storage where it sat for 14 years - until today.
I fired it up, played the Math game and AppleWorks.
So I'm wondering... What kind of hard drive can I get for it? Would I be
able to boot off it like a modern PC? Obviously as a techie I understand I
won't be able to run it like a modern PC but it would be nice to get it up
and running with what would have been a state of the art professional
machine.
