Hi All,
I have put up a pre-release version of my current project - "Dora the
Explorer Colouring for the IIgs". This is a colouring-in type game
that features in many children's games, however, adding "Dora the
Explorer" gives the IIgs a modern day character for kids to relate to.
I primarily wrote this for my eldest daughter who is nearly 4 years
old, and a big fan of Dora the Explorer.
The program is pretty self explanatory - you colour in various Dora
the Explorer characters using my flood fill routine. There are arrows
to move backwards and forwards through the various images, colour
swatches to change colour, and an exit button. Nothing complicated for
little kids. If you wish to stop the flood fill for any reason, hit a
key.
I have converted a number of standard Midi files into MidiSynth format
using MidiSurgeon, and used them for the background music to give kids
some extra entertainment. None of the songs are Dora related (as I
couldn't find any), but the songs are tailored for kids - eg. nursery
rhymes and classical pieces.
If you have young kids, please give it a try and see if they like it.
All comments/suggestions are welcome.
I will be releasing the Complete Pascal source code for the game once
I have tidied it up a little bit more (probably in the next week or
so). The MidiSynth Unit will be released in the next day or so when I
get time to upload it to my web site.
You can download images of the game from my web site:

Please don't upload these images to any of the archive sites, as they
are still in beta and I will be releasing the final version very soon
(along with the source code).
Enjoy!
cheers,
Mike Stephens
