Whoops, I should have mentioned it - you need to be running GS/OS
6.0.1 and have the MidiSynth Tool installed. The MidiSynth tool is
tool number 35. You can verify by checking in the System/Tools folder
on your boot drive.

Sorry, I meant to mention that but forgot. Thats what you get for
posting when you are tired.  :-)

Install Tool 35 and you should be good to go.
