So I actually saw a commercial for 1-800-Dentist this morning instead
of blipping over it with the Tivo.

This is the ad that shows a woman going over a checklist of things to
do, and the voice-over says that times are busy and "finding a
dentist" doesn't normally make your list.

Then it says to call or "go online". Now here's the funny part:

The Computer "icon" they use on-screen just above the website address
is...

an Apple //c, a //c color composite monitor, and a 3.5" disk drive
right next to it on the left.

Yes, it is a modern illustration of one, but there's no denying what
it is.

It's not on youtube or the website yet, or I'd give you a link. But
trust me, it is there, and I pratically fell out of my chair when I
saw it.

On a similar note, a local pharmacy I visited last week was using an
Apple //e to print labels on medicine bottles. I noticed this when I
heard the old C.itoh DMP running in the background. The pharmacist
loves the machine as it's reliable and very cheap to run.

Who says Apple //'s are dead ?

Right.

About a couple of times a year I hear that characteristic dot matrix
whine behind a counter, and I peek over to take a look. About half
the time it is an Apple driving that C. Itoh iron. ;-)

I encounter it more often in medical/veterinary environments...
