Thanks. I'm happy that my little experiment was able to act as a
motivator for you. I'm sure you'll have better success than I have,
though I will say that as far as I'm concerned the LCD works fine for
playing games, which is what I was after in the first place.

I agree, it looks great!

From my initial inspection, it, like most modern video gear, is so
highly integrated that I doubt that it's possible to hack any scan
conversion improvements.  I expect I'll use it just as you did.

I am a little curious about what would happen if the high frequencies
(above 3MHz) were boosted in monochrome mode...  Maybe a video amp
with "preemphasis" would help in 80-column mode.
