Desoldering Apple IIc RAM chips
A follow up on my IIc RAM desoldering. I gave up and cut the legs off
the IC. Installed a machine pin socket and when I found a working
replacement 4164 chip it came good. It still needs another RAM chip
replaced.
I am really surprised at the bad luck I am having with IIc RAM. I sold
my only working ROM 0 IIc leaving me with 3x ROM FF and 1x ROM 3
(motherboard only). All the ROM FF boards have faulty RAM (one has
even had two chips previously replaced (not by me) and one of the
replacements has failed - at least that was easy to fix).
At least I now have one fully working IIc. Now to upgrade the ROM.
