Yes you can, but why don't you just use GSoft BASIC or Complete Pascal
(if you don't mind non-BASIC) as a start? I think - a good text
editor, a good language with no line numbers, complete access to
QuickDraw not just SuperHires, is enough to go straight to either of
this.
