Greetings,

Hi,

What you need is a copy of the IIGS system disk. There are several
places online you can download it from but if you have no experience

All the "system" disks I've been able to find are self-extracting
Macintosh archives, which have a Classic compression engine that I
can't decompress on my MacBook. I do have an old grape iMac sitting up
in the attic, but don't have the energy to lug it down just now :) So
I'd appreciate a disk image from the original installers; I'll email
you.

(Also after I finish rounding out my collection of Laser and IIe/IIc
hardware, I will be getting a GS, so the disk will come in useful
later).

me at magnusfalkirk at gmail dot com. Once you have a usable image of
the system disk put that into your slot 5 drive one for the emulator

Assuming I was sitting in BASIC with DOS loaded, how do I access a
second drive?

Use the slot and drive specifiers with the CATALOG command:

CATALOG,S5,D1 (or whatever slot and drive contains your disk)

If DOS is booted, then this will catalog a DOS disk (but not
a ProDOS disk), and vice versa if ProDOS is booted.
