I have recently set up all of my old hardware in order to return to
programming my Apple IIgs.
My system works ok but my monitor seems to be on it's final days. The
monitor becomes blurry after about 5 minutes of usage. If I turn the
brightness and contrast down really low it allows me to continue to
keep the text readable and generally focused, albeit a lot dimmer.
Does anyone know what would cause this? I am decent with a multi-
tester and soldering gun but I generally don't work on video
displays. Is it a common problem with a common solution or should I
just start looking for another monitor?
Also, on another note, someone gave me an Apple IIc some years back
and I'd really love to use it but it doesn't have the power adapter.
Does anyone have a good source for these? I looked up the pinouts and
it appears to be pretty simple using +15V and ground. Should I just
get a matching power supply and wire up my own plug? Is there
anything to be wary of?
Sorry if these are dumb questions. I have poked around the faqs a bit
to answer a lot of other stuff but I'm more of a software guy than a
hardware guy.
Thanks in advance,
Dagen Brock
