I think even a 16 grey scale graphics is better than anything. And I
assume the browser cannot also suppprt JavaScript...?

For Internet, the 3 main applications are 1) web browsing, 2) email
and 3) instant messenging - especially the web browsing, this is
almost the same meaning as Internet right now...

Anyway, hopefully things improved further!
