You could also partition the card while you're at it:

mac-fdisk /dev/sdb (or whatever)

You might need to install this if you're running Linux on something other
than a Mac.  Apple-style partition-table support (CONFIG_MAC_PARTITION) is a
useful kernel feature to have, too.

To create a ProDOS partition with mac-fdisk, use the C (create with type
also specified) command, and when asked for the partition type, use
Apple_PRODOS.  Since there are no tools on Linux to format ProDOS partitions
(yet), you'll still need an Apple II (or an Apple II emulator) to format the
new partition.
