Thanks all for the comment(s). Something else may be up with my setup.
After what I think was a fresh GS/OS installation, I am seeing
corruption in the Finder again... It's manifesting as icon corruption
(small icon view shows no icons for somethings, a "list" view shows
garbled data, only the base large icon view shows stuff). Since this
is kind of fresh, maybe it's the CF card itself?

I don't have access to a *nix box (although I have plenty of Windoze
systems around here) to really reformat this thing. Might be time to
pick up another card "just in case".
