Wouldn't it be nice! Some sort of memory management convention would
need to be established to either swap or bank switch as required other
code chunks, and require some sort of memory expansion card to
operate, since expanding the size of ProDOS in either a 64k or 128k
Apple II is going to break virtually everything.

There's no reason though, why you couldn't retain compatibility with
every Apple II that can run ProDOS, assuming the memory manager can
use a slinky card as swap space. Although, both the Saturn 128k cards
on the II+ and RamWorks style cards on the IIe/IIc would make the job
relatively easy.
