I have an Iomega brand 340MB Microdrive and like a2retro, my drive has
a matching type II PCMCIA adapter (and a plastic carry case that fits
the adapter and two more cards underneath it)). The trick is that it
is an open frame adapter. I have another PCMCIA adapter for CF flash
cards and the Microdrive would not fit in it as the CF slot is
partially enclosed. It looks like the Microdrive is 5mm thick while CF
cards are only 3.5 to 4mm thick.
