I recently picked up a full retail copy of this game. I want to make
a back-up copy in case (when) the original disks go bad. I have been
unable to find a de-protected image online anywhere. I do have
the .nib images, but my understanding is that they are not de-
protected. Also, they run about 227k per image (for a 140k floppy).
Does anyone have an image they can send my way? I tried the Copy
IIplus ver 9.1, which has the parameters built in for this game, but I
get errors on copying it, and errors when trying to play the game. I
have the following at my disposal, if someone feels like tutoring me
on this.
Super IOB
EDD4
Copy IIplus 9.1
Locksmith 5.0
Locksmith 6.0
Replay II card by Micro Analyst (but missing software if any is
required)
I have done a bit of reading and I have read that most of the SSI
games used a disk operating system called R-dos. Supposedly, all the
games are protected in the same manner? I find this hard to
believe...so I'm not buying that until I learn a bit more. I have
been reading "Beneath Apple DOS" in attempt to learn enough to do
this, but I admit, I am in over my head..though I am enjoying learning
about it.
Please help me if you can and you are interested. Upon de-protecting
the game, I certainly will upload it for all.
