If you wish to rewrite Linux from scratch to run Apple IIgs, give a try.
It would be non-Linux when it does not need protected mode and memory
paging. If GS/OS 7.0 (unreleased version) is written perfect without bugs,
it will never overwrite to other memory while two or more applications are
running at the same time. I wish Linux, Windows XP / Vista, and other
operating system do not need protected mode and use flat real mode to handle
more than 4GB RAM. Beware unless you use language compiler like C++ or
Fortran compiler to write your source code. You can accidently overwrite
RAM while your source code is compiled to run while other applications are
running without protected mode. It may crash and shut down whole operating
system.
I wish you to be perfect programmer. It does not.
