If you do a fresh system install on a blank volume, you don't get
AppleTalk unless you go to the extra step of installing it.

The "System 6: On FDHD or Hard Disk" option gives you a basic
installation of GS/OS with all the optional toolsets, file systems and
device drivers for floppy drives and similar, but it doesn't include
Appletalk.

You have to then add the AppleShare Client option (or one of the related
options) to get AppleTalk support.

Were you installing on top of an existing GS/OS install? If so, you
probably have old files left over, and the reinstall didn't delete them.

If you want to do a fresh install, then rename or delete your System
folder (depending on whether it contains anything you want to keep) and
then do a fresh installation.

There are two major files which trigger AppleTalk error messages at
startup:

SCC.Manager (not to be confused with SCSI.Manager)
AppleShare.FST

You can remove or disable these, and the rest of the AppleTalk support
files won't achieve very much.
