There are system addons for System 6. There is only 1 system 6.0.1
The icon you are seeing is an addon loading up during startup. This
could
be an INIT, a Tool, maybe a CDEV, CDA, many other system addons.
The system6 that you are working with is NOT the original (IE,
supplied by
no longer existing Apple Computer Inc.)... It is a copy of system
6.0.1 that
came from someone's IIgs... and they had that addon installed.
I've never seen the Bowling pin icon. When you boot, press ?esc? or
something
like that, look at the FAQ's... This will show you version
information for all
system files that get loaded during boot. It'll probably show up
there.
If it doesn't, open the SYSTEM folder, look at CDEV folder, TOOLs
folder, CDA
folder, and you'll probably find that same icon.
Where addons go: 1)the apple menu (CDA), the control panel menu
(control-open
apple, escape, I think) are CDEV's, there are some addons that show up
in the ?special?
menu on the GSOS screen. It's been years since I used the IIgs...
