Re: netatalk + a2boot

Got it -- so would a physical Localtalk <-> Ethernet bridge not work in place of Linux PPC with a Localtalk port? I don't have an actual old Mac...

Hi Wendell,
If I remember right, this was meant to be ran on hardware with
localtalk ports (Linux on PPC?) At the time I was playing around with
my IIGS, I didn't have such a macine handy, and over the years I have
forgotten about it. When I have the time I'll dig out one of my old
macs and hook it up to my IIGS and have a look if it works. If anyone
else have any info on this I'd like to know too.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here been able to get an Apple IIe or IIGS to successfully
boot from a netatalk server using the a2boot support code? Scouring
around online a bit, I haven't spotted anything. Does anyone know who
the original contributing author is?

The header says:

* $Id: a2boot.c,v 1.2 2003/01/15 06:24:28 jmarcus Exp $
* Apple II boot support code. with aid of Steven N. Hirsch

jmarcus?

If anyone has any insight, sharing would be MUCH appreciated!

All the best,
