Out of curiosity, do you have serial ports on both sides? You might want
to investigate that instead. Then you don't have to tinker with modems.
I'm running a serial cable from my IIgs into the basement and across the
house - I'd guess 60 feet or so. My connection is 57600 without any
problems.
Since my server is Linux based, I just start ProTERM, log into the Linux
box, and use "rz" and "sz" to ship files via Z-Modem.
