You ought to have a look at Gerard Putter's Virtual II:

It's an *excellent* Apple II emulator, and comes as *universal
binary*, meaning : runs at full native speed on both PPCs and Intel's
processors.

The only problem here is it's OS X limitation. AFAIK, it doesn't run on other PC OS's.
