I actually have a similar problem, however, in my case the PRAM and
clock *sometimes* keeps good time when the power is switched off
(generally over a shortish time duration) but the clock stops when AC
power is switched on. Its the reverse situation that you have. The
IIgs inbuilt test also fails, but the error code is unknown (or "not
documented"). I mentioned this problem here on CSA2 some time back,
but I never did get to the cause of the problem.
I have since acquired another ROM01 motherboard and I intend to
replace my faulty one, however, it would be nice to be able to fix it
one day.
I have verified that voltage is being applied, but if someone could
provide more details on the clock chip, it might shed some light on
where the problem lies. Does anyone have details on what each pin of
the IIgs clock chips is for or where this info can be found?
Maybe a similar problem in both instances?
