Re: Apple II on ebay. Real or fake?

1. serial and model # are A2+, so is the green label
2. motherbd looks like A][, but ....
i cant see whether the game I/O socket is white

2b. Integer Basic is A][. Applesoft is A2+. But many people "improved"
or "upgraded"
their A][ by installing Applesoft when it came out.

3. memory block jumpers - does this mean the"chip" in the spot labeled
memory select ?

4. keyboard is A2+ (flat power "key")

5. case is A][

6. the NEC Ram chips - some have the Apple symbol on them in white. I
have never seen this before!!! me want !!!

7. date of manufacture on the motherboard: this isnt always proof
positive. lets say i bought
an A][ in 78 or 79. In 1981 it breaks down, i send it to the
factory for repair. Theyve got lots
of A][ boards around, refurbished board is installed with factory
date 1981.

8. all in all, to identify the diff between A][ and A2+ take
everything into account:
model, serial, color label, mobo date, keyboard, ram, rom, game I/
O socket....

9. this ebay item obviously has some A][ and some A2+ parts
