I have been a computer fan for years having started out messing with
computers before 1987. I have experience with everything from the TRS80's to
the newest PC Dual core systems. But the last time I touched an Apple II was
elementary school. Anyway. I found an Apple IIe with a nice Apple III
monitor, monitor stand, and 2 disk drives.
Bad thing is I have no boot disk or any software. I remember that computers
of that time could often be put in Basic programming mode but I do not know
what the keyboard combination might be (and usually it did not allow for
saving to disk if memory serves). Also how hard would it be to convert one
or both of the drives to a 3.5 drive. Would that drive need to be a 730K
double density or could it be the current 1.44mb density drive? And I know I
might not get all the capacity out of those drives. I am interested in
getting a boot disk with any other software someone might be willing to
offer. Also will a 8 bit PC modem work in it? Anyone have any software for
PC to Apple II transfers? I am now a computer tech for a small IT company so
I work with computers every day but it has been a LONG time since I have
worked on an 8 bit. I DO have a C600 Supermac though. I live in Mississippi.
