I did not do any such coding to change things around. I pulled out my old 286 with a HUGE 40MB hard drive in 2 partitions and was poking around when I decided to do diskopt. It started to run and shortly thereafter crapped out due to bad sectors. The machine still booted but I couldn't get DOS off onto disks as that directory got screwed up. PC's really have no longevity.
