True, but I was trying to keep to 8 keys for 8-bit Apple II
compatibilty.

Actually, you require 8 modifier keys to get 8 bits.  The
"Cookie" key just says that "a key was pressed".  ;-)

If you can have 16 bits, then luckily you discovered a whole new class
of modifiers in your reply to Brendan in this thread, with the first of
the "words you can't say on TV". ;-)
