I know a good a graduate student at UC Davis currently pursuing a
Ph.D. in Physics. I am a condensed matter theorist. For those who don't
know, Condensed Matter Theory is the theory of solids and liquids.
Condensed = "not gas." Matter is... well, you know.. stuff..
everything. My main focus is the quantum mechanics of solids,
electronic structure, vibrational properties, etc. I'm also interested
in studying highly-correllated materials, and in general, the quantum
mechanics of a many particle system where those particles are strongly
interacting.

Gee I thought I it would be bigger. The CNC and the apple II for the
signs or the for lathes for gun making went past the $1,000 mark.

The Money would not be a problem, but the space is. NO ROOM for the
item.

Not sure why Hard science would distrube you. I have seen Apple II
articles, on how they contolled nukes, Eye surgey for correcting vision
before it popular, Venier.Com still makes a lot of the interfaces. Have
a few book marks of them used in all sorts of older science projects.

Maybe all you need is more ROOM for your hobby.
BTW where is MANDRAKE? So I can missplace it among my Apple II items.
