The Computist Project... is done. Well, mostly. I still need to scan
the three Books of Softkeys. But those volumes contain only a
distillation of information published previously in the pages of
Computist; nothing new.
So, what else remains? At one point, Softkey Publishing sold a
"Diskbusters" T-shirt. I'd love to get my hands on one. Even a
picture of one for the site would be nice.
I'm missing a few images of the Library Disks: 83, 84 and 86 through
89.
I'm also looking for a scan of the original flyer that was circulated
at a few A2 user groups announcing Hardcore Computing's inception.
As subscriptions and reader contributions began to dwindle, publisher
Charles Haight used posts from the Computist BBS to fill the canvas.
If someone has a copy of the BBS archives, please contact me.
The DVDs and CD sets will be available shortly. I'll post about that
when they're ready...
Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who helped see this project through
to completion I won't mention names here -- I don't want to leave
anyone out and I know I'm forgetting a few. For the donation of time,
and lending of issues I didn't have; for encouragement and a friendly
word now and then; for technical advice and endless patience -- my
thanks to you, the Apple II faithful.
(Sappy enough for you?)
If you intend to use a site-sucker program (like wget or Teleport) to
grab everything at once, I'd appreciate you turning on the etiquette
settings (3 ma xsimultaneous connections at once)
Well, that's about really. Share and enjoy...
