However, I had a IIgs monitor with similar symtoms just recently;
luckily for me I know a guy at work who used to do TV repair for a
living. In my case, I had bought the monitor off of eBay and the
monitor had probably be jolted in transit and broken some of the solder
joints on the heavier components (ie. transformer and big caps). The
guy I know resoldered the cracked solder joints and in literally 5 mins
I had a working monitor. Your mileage may vary.

Just remember, that there are some serious voltages inside the monitor
and to take extreme caution if you do decide to crack the monitor case
open (I sought the aid of my colleague as soon as I realised that it
was more than a blown fuse).

how would a IIgs RGB monitor be any use on a //c? I thought that the
//c was only composite?
