If you're running Mac OS-X, you could probably get GNAT running there.
On Mac OS-9 and earlier, you'd face some problems though...

Can't you run a terminal program on your IIgs and hook it up to your
Mac?  Then you can use a more powerful computer AND type on the IIgs
keyboard ..... the best of both worlds, right?
