Additionally, the notable "Might & Magic II" has beautiful fullscreen
graphics.

"Dazzle Draw" is probably the best known DHGR paint program for the
Apple II. It's also a good compatibility test for the high res text...

There is also a version of "The Graphics Magician" for DHGR which has
several demo pictures.
As you would expect, DHGR is much slower than HGR because of the
doubled amount of memory. However Graphics Magician's routines are fast
"enough" for their purpose.
Of course there are several graphics adventures which make good use of
them, like Penguin/Polarware's "Oo-Topos" and "The Coveted Mirror"
(which are not in the faq list, yet ;-)
