This website is Knut's what Knut and I were working together to
construct video data from RGB to CGA monitor through RGB to CGA adapter. We
are going to design VGA card from RGB near the future. I have not had time
to draw schematic for Apple //e's RGB & 80 Col card like I promised Knut.
Knut will do the same. It would be helpful for someone to participle who
they are interested so we can draw schematic together. It gives us idea
what to do with RGB to VGA.
I can tell that Apple IIgs' RGB will not work with CGA monitor. If it
does, it can only work LGR, HGR, and DHGR, but it will not work with super
resolution because it is done with video clock and is limited to standard
CGA 16 colors. It is not worth effort to do your experiment if it does not
work.
Soon, I will provide screenshots what I have used to convert NTSC pixel
from Apple IIgs' RGB to VGA. You will see LGR, HGR, and DHGR. It is much
nice looking than what we see at the emulators' video.
