Thanks for the info. I put the dips on 1000 and the machine booted fine without a Zip drive. When I hooked it up, I tried both 5 and 6 ID and then switched the termination to off and put a terminator on the hard drive and still no go. The hard drive is either on 1 or 2. The machine instantly tries to boot off the floppies. Ah well...
