With all due considerations to "gift horses", etc., there is something
seriously wrong with the scans used to create these .pdf's.
The resolution is too low, the JPEG compression too high, or *something*
else is going on that is causing them to be very hard to read.
(And I repeat that they would be better presented as a single .pdf file,
rather than as separate files for each ten pages.)
