Re: Auxiliary zero page locations

Hello,

I've had an ongoing project for a while now to implement a compiler for
the Apple II. For the moment, the compiler only works with IIe/IIc
systems that have RamWorks style memory cards installed, as it assumes
that the zero page and stack that it works with is completely free.

It's occured to me though that I could possibly use it to generate code
for 128k systems if the auxiliary zero page is free, or close to it. So
far, the only use of the auxiliary zero page area I've come up with
(assuming an Enhanced IIe/IIc running ProDOS) is the AUXMOVE routines.
Assuming I'm not using these routines, can I consider this area to be
unpolluted?

This should work the same for Apple 64k aux ram as it does for RamWorks memory cards. In fact, the 2c and 2e are probably using the 64k bank supplied with the 80 column video anyhow.

Cheers,
