We had an Annex II Terminal server with an external ethernet MAU
attached to the AUI (DA-15F) port which connected to the motherboard
via a short ribbon cable. The MAU developed an internal short across
the power rails and the Annex was able to supply enough power to cause
the ribbon cable to catch fire... The power traces on the motherboard
got hot enough to discolor but replacing the ribbon (and the MAU)
returned it to operation.
