I'm interested in what drive combinations are available on either port, 
if a phantom slot is used, if there are any built-in diagnostics 
(doesn't appear to be) or any gotchas.

I think the gotcha I know of is don't use the UDC with a UniDisk 3.5 or 
it will blow up the controller - though not sure if thats accurate.
