Re: Blinking Light Apple II

Yeah, I've been working on it for a while :) Still need to work on a few
details. At the VCF people actually walked up to it thinking it was a real
Altair! I need to work on the USB interface to the emulation. The front
panel is using a microcontroller to emulate the front panel and actually
emulate an 8800 with 256 bytes!
It would be really easy to make a circuit to just display the Address and
data bus signals along with a few of the control signals like R/W, IRQ, NMI,
etc. A few latches and some leds is all that is needed. I would think a
small control card along with a seperate panel would do the trick. Connected
with a ribbon cable and let the data flow!
I can do 3 prototype boards for $100 but I can panelize boards and put 2
boards on one and cut them seperately. I need to work on some other stuff
first but it would be fun to have a panel for the apple II. I'd actually
like to make it control the Apple like the Altair does. Examine/program
memory locations, etc. That would be cool. To many ideas, not enough time :(
I'd be delighted to have one of these--though I must admit that if
it had a hex display, I'd like it even better. ;-)
