Re: se/30 IWM SWIM floppy repair motherboard
Hello [w].
When I first pruchased my hot air rework station I started expirmenting on
some old Mac SE/30 motherboards. They're pretty easy to work on actually.
I'm not too sure what other IC's or componets could have been damaged other
then the SWIM. Removing and soldering a new IC on should be pretty easy.
Just go easy on the solder paste. A little goes a long way. Looking at my
motherboard there looks like there is enough room to add a SMT PLCC socket
for the SWIM. I would spend the extra couple dollars and do that.
Other then that have fun!
