If you can find a way to replace the ram with non-volitile ram (so it
sticks around when you turn it off) you could hack a quasi solid-state
hard drive. Of course, you'd still need a boot disk to get to it.
Load it down with single-file games (I have a couple of hdv images full
of these) and enjoy hundreds of simple games without flipping disks
ever. Sure it won't provide you with a maniac mansion fix -- but you
can get your moon patrolling on or dig some dig-dug.
